Yesterday on my lunchbreak, when I was feeling stressful about something, I finally decided to take a short walk outside. At first it was hard to get my mind off what was bothering me, then I began to notice the trees swaying gently in the wind. I felt sure that the trees were giving praise to their Creator; and that even though they don't have brains in the same way that we do, they really somehow "know" they were created by God and very thankful for it. I also sensed God reminding me of His love for me. Filled with joy, I began to hum and sing an old song based on Isaiah 55:12:
"You shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace
The mountains and the hills shall burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. "
Then I knew everything was going to be alright, and it was easy to let go of my previous stressful thoughts and I had a very good afternoon! I thank God for using His Creation, the trees, to remind me of what I really already know - that He watches over me, and He is my joy and strength in the midst of challenges.
"May the God of Hope fill you with all Joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in Hope by the Power of the Holy Spirit" (Romans 15:13)
